Full Description

{1} Excavation in 1978. Ironstone quarrying. Scatter of Iron Age features over about 2.5 acres revealed in topsoil. Features of two periods. Parallel ditches of C3rd-C4th BC with Iron Age pot sherds. A scatter of late pre-Belgic pits, ditches and pot sherds.

{3} SP 933 967: Iron Age settlement east of the parish on limestone at 110 metres above OD. Ironstone mining has recently revealed several Iron Age features over an area of 1 hectare. The features appeared to be of two periods and included two parallel ditches of the 3rd or 4th century BC and pits and ditches of a later date.

{4} A scatter of Iron Age features over 2.5 acres. Pair of parallel ditches dating to the 3rd or perhaps the 4th century BC. Possible trackway.
