Originally situated to the east on the former Grand Junction Canal wharf. Manufactured by the Eagle Foundry in Birmingham. Locally listed.

Full Description

{1}Pre 1860 cast iron crane-base in corner of timber yard, formerly the Grand Junction Wharf, and adjacent to the canal. Base about 2metres high on concrete. Concrete blocks surround the base.

{2} The substantial crane base on what was once the grand Junction Canal wharf, consists of a cast iron pillar about 2m high, with three 'feet' set in wedge-shaped blocks. The remainder of the crane was reputedly reomoved to the British Waterways Yard at Gayton as a protection from vandalism.

{3} Wharf crane built by the Eagle Foundry in Birmingham.
