Abstract/Summary

Rapid building survey of 19th and 20th century buildings formerly associated with the Grand Junction Canal wharf and the railway. The earthwork survey found numerous well-defined ditches, some of which coincided with boundaries shown on the 1767 Inclosure Map. Other earthworks may be associated with the construction of the canal, remodelling of the Nene and remains of demolished buildings.
