Full Description

{1} Trial excavation identified post medieval deposits within Trenches 1 and 3, and modern truncation in Trench 4. The post medieval deposits in Trench 1 may represent a construction or made up ground which may be associated with the (derelict) greenhouses. The absence of any significant amount of artefacts in the excavation suggest that this was a generally unbuilt parcel of land during the medieval and post medieval periods. There is no evidence for Saxon or late medieval settlement.
