Abstract/Summary

Desk based study and trial excavation were carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology ahead of proposed development at the Rookery, Brixworth. Examination of historic maps suggest that the area was situated within a relatively blank area on the western fringes of the historic core of Brixworth from the 17th century onwards. The four trial trenches excavated within the application area revealed post medieval activity, but no evidence of saxon settlement.
