Full Description
{1}Medieval & post medieval deposits of possible drainage ditches in trenches 2-4 & natural limestone at a shallow depth below present ground surface within trenches 1 & 2; it is thought that there has been an amount of soil clearance & soil importation over whole area of site possibly associated with rebilding of manor & park in C18th; absence of substantial quantities of artefacts suggests area lies outside & to north of both saxon & medieval settlements;
