Full Description

{1}According to G Foard's researches, much of the Biggin area would have been cleared of woodland by the later 12th century. Open strip cultivation (leading to the development of ridge and furrow) followed clearance of woodland and the establishment of the Grange. The construction of the Deer Park would have fossiled and so preserved much of this ridge and furrow.
