Full Description

{1} New house footings have revealed at least 1 metre of made-up ground and/or levelled ground. This incorporates ash, burnt debris and rubble. Large brick built square pit (c.3m x 3m x c.4 m deep) revealed together with exposures of NxS aligned brick built (barrel roofed) drains or sewers. All these remains associated with the surface plant of Irthlingborough Mines c. early 20th century through to dismantling c. 1966 (see Tonks E. 1990)
