Full Description

{1} A double row of planks supported by posts were found on the west side of the old river course immediately up stream of a stone and brick weir at a point where the streams diverged. The timbers extended for nearly 3m and 8.8m respectively and were about 1m apart. They were not strictly alligned and probably represent two phases of activity. Only the top of the posts have decayed. They are probably remains of a recent anti-erosion measure along the river bank.
