Full Description
{1} Fieldwalking has identified a concentration of Roman pottery associated with the villa. The exposure of material is probably due to the location of the villa on a small sand island which rises slightly above the floodplain. The rest of the field to the south is covered by a more general spread of Roman pottery, although the presence of alluvium and the disturbance of quarrying make the interpretation of this disturbance equivocal.
