Full Description

{1} Two parallel ditches were recorded in trench A. No finds were recovered from either.

{2}The pit alignment (7473/0/1) was overlain by a series of linear features on the same east/west orientation, clearly respecting the earlier alignment. Two ditched enclosures were laid out on either side of these features; on the northern side of the former pit alignment the smaller one was rectilinear in shape and open to the north. The larger enclosure lay to the south of the former pit alignment. Further ditches were recorded across the site, including examples which the barrow ditches.

Despite the lack of maintenance, later ditches and gullies show a clear relationship to the backfilled or silt-up pit alignment pits, either recutting stretches of the boundary or respecting the earlier alignment.
