Abstract/Summary

The site lies in an area of significant prehistoric activity, evidenced by aerial photographs and previous excavation. The present work which covered an area c 2ha, revealed a double-ditched rectangular barrow with two crouched inhumations, a small square enclosure, and part of a pit alignment with associated boundary ditches. Finds were sparse throughout but those recovered, particularly from the square enclosure, suggest a middle Iron Age date for the excavated features.
