Full Description
{1} A layer of demolition rubble consisting mainly of large 19th century machine made bricks. Frequent pieces of honey coloured sandstone were also found, along with one fragment of a possible section of door jamb. The rubble layer is fragmentary and the exact orientation and nature of the building from which they came is uncertain. However, it is almost certain that they represent a demolition layer from those structures shown on the early OS maps as the original Nags Head which was demolished in the 1930s.
{2} Present in 1829.
