Summary
Site of a deserted hamlet. In the 18th-century Inclosure Map of Pattishall, old enclosures are known as Descote closes. Fieldwalking survey has identified a significant concentration of medieval pottery, although Roman pottery was also found in significant quantities.

Full Description
{1} Descote in Pattishall, known as a place name from documentary sources and broadly located, has now been accurately positioned from earthworks.
{2} Fieldwalking survey identified a significant assemblage of mid-late medieval pottery. Some 40% of the total assemblage comprised Potterspury Ware. A geophysical survey verified the enclosure and a possible pair of parallel ditches within it.
