Full Description
{1} Excavation of 1975 by D.Jackson. Pit contining a Bronze Age cremation urn at SP981749. The pit was heat-reddened. Adjacent were cylindrical pits and ditches of uncertain date.
{2} A small Bronze Age vessel from a pit, with cremated bones. Other possible Neolithic or Early Iron Age features were also found.
{3} Bronze Age cremation was found in a small pit (0.3m in diameter and 0.40m deep in gravel). Evidence of burning around the sides, it contained cremated bone, burnt earth, a dark silty loam and a small urn. Small bones of hands, feet, face and teeth are missing. The cremation probably represents remains of female in late twenties-early thirties. The urn size places it amoung the accessory (Pygmy) cup series that accompanys burial of Early Bronze Age date.
