Summary

Iron Age and Roman settlement site covering five acres with pottery and a quern. Areas of stone and pebbles probably represent hut - sites. Cropmarks of possible enclosures and ring ditches have been identified on aerial photographs during Northants NMP.

Full Description

{1} Field walking in 1972 discovered an area of about 5 acres of early Iron Age and Romano-British occupation debris, with pottery and a quern stone. There are several areas of stone and pebbles which are probably hut sites.

{4} An area of some 2ha is covered with early Iron Age and Roman occupation debris and pottery. Several areas of stone and pebbles have been interpreted as hut sites.

{5} Roman bronze brooch with lozenge-shaped bow found November 1989.
