Full Description

{1} The whole parish is an area of contiguous features and should be regarded as a single multi period site. There is evidence of a triple ditched prehistoric boundary (the start of the Jurassic Way), with the later periods showing a less organised landscape with trackways and enclosures. The area seems to have a later phase where new arrangements of roads and enclosures were imposed over an earlier landscape.

{2} (SP 634 571) Two parallel ditches and (SP 633 568) on AP in 1980.

{3} (SP 642 569) Possibly two parallel ditches, (SP 638 565) and an enclosure on air photographs in 1981.

{4} Enclosures (SP 638 560) and (SP 635 560) identified during AP survey in 1982.

{5} (SP 636 567) [Probably part of the prehistoric landscape which includes various lengths of multiple ditches running roughly in line with the Jurassic Way. Possibly a form of prehistoric boundary marker.
