Cropmarks of possible prehistoric or Roman enclosures and pits identified on aerial photographs. Part of a possible round barrow ring dtch has also been identified.

Full Description

{1} Cropmark recorded in 1980. Part of a ring ditch. G.Foard (19/10/1981).

{3} Enclosures and Ditches (TL 003815), SW of the village, on river gravel at about 40m above OD. Air photographs (in NMR) show indistinct cropmarks of at least one rectangular enclosure and a number of short ditches. RCHM Inventory suggests this area centred TL 008834 to be that emparked in 1298 by Henry, Earl of Lincoln. Area 30 acres. Known as the Warren in 1793. Low bank 0.5 - 1m high exists along boundary at the N and S ends of the park. [RCHM plan].
