Full Description
{3} Documentary evidence for the medieval deer park of Weldon Park. In 1306 AD Richard Basset obtained license to enclose 71 acres in Halgh Wood as his park, situated in his manor of Weldon. Nothing is known of its later history. By 1587 AD the south part of the park was enclosed into two fields and lay outside the wood. Plan: Fig 147.
