Full Description

{1} Roman pottery scatter. Mapped area defined by David Hall. The published Grid Ref of SP700755 is incorrect. Info from D. Hall.

{2} Fieldwork Report by Higham Ferrers Hundred Group (D.N.Hall). Several acres of Roman sherds and building stone occurred at SP700755.

{3} Two Roman coins found by metal detecting and identified by Mark Curteis, Northampton Museum.

{4} SP700755. A Roman site covering several acres was discovered during a parish survey. There are dark occupation areas littered with building stone, pot sherds etc. The site lies in two main concentrations, one yielding a few sherds of possible late Iron Age date.

{5} A large area of Roman pottery, building stone and patches of dark soil has been discovered.

{6} SP 69917549; 21 coins ranging from a worn sestertius of Hadrian and a denarius of Antoninius pius to a Magnetian copy, a silver ring, a probable nail cleaner and part of a fibula brooch. Found 1988 and 1989 by RFJ Kings. An illegible coin of Victorinus was also subsequently found in 1991 by R.F.J. Kings.
