Full Description

{1} In 1328 Richard Damory has licence to impark his woods at Plumpton Pirye "although they were within the metes and bounds of the forests of Whittlewood before the perambulation made in the late reign". Baker states that the name is retained in a small public house called "Plumb Parker Corner" and between 80-90 acres adjoining the property of Sir C. Mordaunt, Bart. Still retained the name The Park.

{2} Frequent medieval references though later history is not well documented. It has been suggested that the park was laid out around existing common field furlongs.

{4} It was still known as The Park in the early 19th century.

{6} Possibly inclosed in 1409; disparked after early C19th. [SMR note: inclosure date may be confused with Paulerspury Park re.4749 which was inclosed in 1410]
