Summary

Fieldwalking survey identified a significant scatter of Roman pottery including samian and colour-coated wares and many burnt pebbles.

Full Description

{1} Very dark area with many burnt pebbles (of gabbro, basalt & schist), bone; sherds of samian and colour-coated wares. Not much plough-damage until recently.

{3} SP 97478535 Black patches & RB pottery (Jackson April 1964).

{4} Under corn stubble. Some RB pottery but the 'black patches' were not identified.
