Full Description

{2}Robert Andrews Esq - parkland. 2nd edition of 1791 - enclosed park.

{3}Enclosed 1778, 2600 acres - 2170 acres belong to Robert Andrew. Park c160 acres, deer, small but eminently beautiful. New entrance from Northampton a rustic lodge, highly embellished grounds, gardeners cottage and pheasantry, fine sheet of water, bridge. Modernised east and west fronts. Andrew purchased 1753 manor from Lovell, took down seat few years hence. Thomas Andrew purchased Harlestone 1530 came from Charwelton and married Emma Knightley of Fawsley. Harlestone Heath used for races.

{4}Ground plan of house, offices, stables, gardens etc at Althorp, signed by Humphrey John Adey Repton 1808-11.

{5}Pleasing though small park, new offices lately made. Various plantations made.

{10}Three watercolours of H Repton; one signed by HJA Repton.

{11}Eyre and catalogue of sale plan show road moved and park enlarged.

{12}There are two seats, that of Mr Andrews Lord of the manor and that of the late Sir S Lovell. Thomas Andrew Esq bought the manor from Jn Lumley in the 15th year of the reign of Henry 7th (1492).
