Full Description

{1} Owner S.H.Blackwell & Co. It is not known exactly when quarrying was first commenced but an indenture in 1852 stated that ore had been quarried as an experiment some years before. The workings were from 1870 to 1880 and were known as Warren Quarries and Quarry fields south of the Newport Pagnell road -the B526- and Pittams Farm in The Warren,Hardingstone. The undulations of the workings can still be seen in the fields of The Warren but there is no sign of any tramway.
