Full Description

{1} Documentary references to the manor having belonged to Lilleshall Abbey in Shropshire. It was still tenanted in 1421. The lands were sold to The Earl of Rutland at Dissolution.

{2} In the 18th century Bridges wrote of 'a place moated around with the appearance of a ruined building. The foundations of walls have frequently been discovered'.

{3} The thirteenth century manorial surveys speak of a manor of braunston and Braunstonberry.
