SNN100022 - Land off Dando Close Wollaston, Northamptonshire: Stage 2 Interim Report

The evaluation undertaken by the Heritage Network in January and February 1999, covered a 2% sample area of the development area, has shown a spread of features of early and middle saxon date, including a sunken feature building running across the centre of the area. The subsequent evaluation in October demonstrated that significant archaeological activity is probably confined to the northern half of the development site. There was a significant absence of background Saxon material, suggesting that perhaps the Saxon activity to the north is relatively undisturbed.
