Abstract/Summary

Northamptonshire Archaeology was commissioned by the Wythe Holland Partnership on behalf of Lady Margaret and Stephen Graubard to carry out an archaeological watching brief for the ground work construction of the New Library. This new building construction has been sited on land close to The Stone Barn, Pilton, Northamptonshire (NGR: TL 0237/ 8454). The watching brief was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology on 27th March 2001 in conjunction with the initial stages of cutting the footings of the New Library. This watching brief follows on from previous work by Northamptonshire Archaeology carried out in February 2001, when an archaeological evaluation was conducted in response to the planning application made to East Northamptonshire District Council (Application No: EN/00/09430).
