Abstract/Summary
Enclosures, Remains Of This is a promontory in angle between a tributary and the main watercourse at Redwell. On the promontory, alongside an 18th-20th century former field boundary, is a broad bank which, on reaching the crest of the escarpment is carried round the edge of same. To the east is another short length of bank on the escarpment crest. Associated with this site is a quarry and mound shown as old quarry on early OS Editions. The quarry shows reworking phases and part infil. The mound looks odd for just quarry spoil. This is at SP883690. Both these features are described in detail on accompanying report and plan. In addition (not on accompanying report) are possible building platforms and a circular mound, for which no measurements were taken, at SP884690. These may relayed.
