Abstract/Summary

Two phases of geophysical survey, comprising a total of ten discrete areas, were undertaken in the grounds of Apethorpe Hall. A number of anomalies associated with the gardens were defined, including details of the walled garden area, the probable position of fruit within the orchard, possibly the line of the original drive and the presence of further lines of trees or shrubs along the line of the yew tree walk. Further possible archaeological features include circular anomalies that may represent ring ditches and wells and possible field systems.
