Abstract/Summary

During WW2 banbury was defended by anti-aircraft guns. The Banbury GUN Defended Area (GDA) comprised 4 heavy anti-aircraft gun sites (HAA) located around the town. Two are situated within Northamptonshire, this and one at Astrop. Previously only known from documentary sources, fieldwork during 2003 has confirmed the for the first time, the exact location of these two.
