Abstract/Summary

A desk based survey and trial excavation suggested that a potential development site was outside the area thought to the West Hall, as known from historic document. A small group of features comprising a ditch two gullies and two post holes were found. The ditch and one of the gullies produced single sherds of medieval pottery.
