Abstract/Summary

An archaeological recording action on groundworks at the junction of the round church and the N aisle recorded structural remains, which appeared to predate the mid 12th century phase of building. A thick layer of mortar and rubble, which was exposed in the majority of the trench, may have derived from the demolition of the gallery and clerestory of the round church possinly in the 14th century.
