Abstract/Summary

The desk-based assessment and building recording survey of St. George's School, Northampton found that the school had been built by the Borough of Northampton and was opened in June 1908. Whilst having undergone many superficial changes, the school comprising a long range housing junior boys and girls and separate building for the infants, remains largely as built. Separate covered play areas and a toilet block also survivie. The school closed in 1970 and has been used recently by Northampton College. It is to be demolished in the summer of 2005.
