Abstract/Summary

A programme of recording and analysis was carried out during the conversion of buildings known as Manfield House into apartments. The recording has been both widespread and comprehensive, charting the conversion of the private home of the Manfield family into a hospital for crippled children and later into a hospital facility used as part of the National Health Service. The recording has been carried out in 2003, 2004 and 2005 by Barton Willmore Architects and Northamptonshire Archaeology on behalf of Taylor Woodrow. Early recording to of the stable outbuildings was carried out in June 2003 on behalf of Wilson Connolly and is included as report item 5.
