Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by the University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) between December 2005 and April 2006 as required by the Northampton Town Borough Council as part of the planning conditions (ref N/2004/1071 and N/2004/1072). The site lies close to the medieval core of Northampton and there are a number of Historic Environment Record (HER) entries within the vicinity. A post-medieval well shaft was the only archaeological remains to be located during the course of the watching brief. Modern disturbance and cellarage in other areas of ground works has meant that any remains that may have been present have been truncated.
