Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Northamptonshire Archaeology between June and October 2006 during ground-works associated with the laying of a new water pipeline by Anglian Water between Raunds and Newtonbromswold, Northamptonshire. This report concerns the northern section between Raunds and Chelveston, the southern section also undertaken by Northamptonshire Archaeology is the subject of a separate report. Throughout the northern section undisturbed stratigraphy was revealed across most of the watching brief area, although extensive modern truncation had taken place at the northern terminus of the route. No archaeological deposits were present and no artefacts were recovered.
