Historic Building Recording of The Deer Shelter in 2010 towards a parkland management plan as part of a High Level Stewardship agreement. The building is a 19th century construction, although available records do not confirm a date for this. It is known as the Deer Shelter which implies its function, although there are no deer in the park now. In the background of a late 19th century painting in the possession of Lady Braye, the hut and its finial stands with a thatched roof.
