Abstract/Summary

In April 2005 an archaeological desk-based asessment was undertaken of land at Monksmoor Farm, Daventry, in advance of proposals for development of the area for housing. The assessment revealed that archaeological remains are not currently known on the site, but a number are known in the surrounding area. The proposed site has been agricultural land since the medieval period and probably earlier. Ground disturbance has taken place in localised areas, but there is good potential for the surival of unknown archaeological deposits elsewhere on the site.
