Abstract/Summary

During November 2011 the excavation of six engineer's test pits were monitored by A1 Archaeology at Blilsworth House, Blisworth, Northamptonshire. The pits were located against the internal and external walls of the north-south orientated range of outbuildings to the east of the main house. From the observations made it was clear that structural alterations had been made to the buildings since they were originally built sometime between 1726 and 1729. The only feature not directly related to the standing building was a fire reddened masonry feature towards the south western external end of the range. This masonry was interpreted as either a wall or flue, of uncertain date.
