Abstract/Summary

Trial trenches were excavated within the footprint of the identified geophysical readings which suggested the presence of multiple ditches enclosures, ring ditches and other linear features. Additional trenches were placed acorss the site to test apparently 'blank' areas. The trial trenching identified two areas of archaeology. These trenches clearly identified previous settlement in the form of archaeological features. The pottery and finds recovered from the features suggests rural domestic occupation in the Iron Age to mid Roman period with a possibility of activity in the late Neolithic/early Bronze Age, indicated by the recovery of lfints.
