Abstract/Summary

An archaeological desk-based assessment and geophysical survey were carried out on land at 51 Finedon Road. No part of the site falls within, or is adjacent to, a nationally designated site. There are two sites noted in the Northants HER that are of relevance to this site. A number of Mesolithic flint tools have been found just to the east of the site. In addition the projected course of a Roman road lies just to the west of the site on a north-west to south-east alignment. Map evidence shows that prior to the building of the bungalow in 20th century, the site was in agricultural use. No features were indicated on the geophysical survey, however.
