Abstract/Summary

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in May 2010 at land off John's Road, Bugbrooke. Twelve trenches were excavated. Within the northern half of the site an isolated posthole and three small undated ditches all running on a roughly north-south alignment were encountered. Ditches running on a similar alignment were also identified in the southern half of the site. It is possible that these ditches form part of rectilinear field systems. A number of intercutting pits were also revealed but were not linked to any other features which may have suggested a settlement area within the vicinity of the site.
