Date/Year 2011

Abstract/Summary

Northamptonshire Archaeology was commissioned by Henry H Bletsoe and Son Ltd to carry out an archaeological geophysical survey on 5ha of land proposed for a Rural Agricultural Centre (RAC) at Thrapston, Northamptonshire. The survey has identified two archaeological features; a probable Bronze Age ring ditch and a oval enclosure, possibly also of prehistoric date. In terms of the site topography the features are situated at the highest elevation. The clear division of geological types in the data also reflects the partition of the field into two halves prior to the 20th century.
