Abstract/Summary

Northamptonshire Archaeology was commissioned by Brian Barber Associates to carry out a desk-based assessment on 14ha of land south of the Turweston Road in Brackley, Northamptonshire. An examination of the relevant historical and archaeological records indicates the possibility for the presence of some Iron Age and Roman activity in the southern part of the development area related to the Romano-British settlement in the Old Town to the west. The foundations of a small 19th century barn may still be in situ, and features and debris from a brickworks and the railways may impinge upon the area from the north-east and north-western boundaries.
