Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was carried out at Park Farm, Collyweston. The site partially falls within the SMA of the 15th century manor (or the Palace) of Collyweston. The project followed an earlier geophysical survey of the site, which revealed a number of anomalies. Four evaluation trenches were excavated, one with the area of the SAM. The evaluation revealed evidence of late medieval/ early post medieval midden within the SAM. Two small pits/ postholes lay to the south of the SAM, one containing a single Romano-British sherd. Possible colluvial lynchets and/or made terracing deposits were identified in trench 2, likely contemporary with the late medieval/ early post-medieval parkland.
