Abstract/Summary

An archaeological trial trench evaluation was carried out prior to a proposed residential development. Two trenches were excavated. Trench 1 showed evidence of a robbed out garden wall. In trench 2 there was a ditch, dated to the earlier 11th century, which may have been a plot boundary within the late Saxon village.
