Abstract/Summary
A desk-based assessment and trial excavation was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology on land at the rear of 24 High Street, Stanion. The site lies close to an area of large scale pottery production during the Middle Ages. Three trial trenches were excavated in the area of a proposed single dwelling and each revealed a sequence of layers containing medieval and post medieval pottery. The only significant feature recorded was a boundary wall of eighteenth – nineteenth century date at the south end of Trench 2.
