Abstract/Summary

The building that is the subject of this recording is a nineteenth century stone building on land at the rear of 12 West Street, Oundle. Listed and Planning permissions have been granted to convert the disused building into residential and storage use. The building is likely to have been built in 1862 by the Co-Operative Wholesale Society, on land which was directly behind their general store which fronted onto the main commercial thoroughfare of 12, West Street, Oundle. In accordance with condition 7 of Listed Building consent, and condition 9 of the planning permission, an archaeological building record, to English Heritage Level 2 has been carried out.
