Abstract/Summary

Archaeological excavation, recording and analysis was undertaken on land at Oak Lane, Crick, Northamptonshire.Isolated Iron Age activity, Saxon enclosure ditches and a posthole structure, and a medieval earthwork ditch were located in two open areas, separated by a hedge line. Artefacts recovered include iron Age, Roman Saxon, and medieval pottery, animal bone, ceramic building materials, post-medieval glass, a copper buckle, lead musket ball, and a misshapen piece of lead. Two supplementary trial trenches were excavated, neither contained any archaeological remains.
