Abstract/Summary

MOLA (formerly Northamptonshire Archaeology), was commissioned by Rathmell Archaeology Ltd on behalf of Breedon Aggregates Ltd to undertake mitigation works at Spinney Quarry, Earls Barton, Northamptonshire. The works identified a linear ditch that was identified in the geophysical survey (GSB 2010). Tile was recovered from the ditch dating from the Romano-British period. A sherd of post-medieval pottery was also recovered from the same ditch. Remains of a wall related to the existing barn was also noted, and had formed part of a stock yard.
